Throughout New York, you can find plenty of restaurants that are hiding in plain sight and appear to be something other than a typical dining establishment. Unless you knew what you were looking for, restored and renovated locations that have taken something from the past and turned them into something new may manage to slide under your radar.
Bringing you to a historic spot out in Western New York, it’s time you grab a drink and a bite to eat at this beautiful firehouse that’s now actually a restaurant!
Not far from the banks of the Genesee River, Rochester's very own Hose 22 Firehouse Grill is an extraordinary eatery that blends right in with its surroundings.
Operating from 1916 until 1962, this restaurant was once a historic and local firehouse that sat abandoned for nearly 40 years until the current owners took on the job or restoring this beautiful place.
Step inside Hose 22 today and you'll find that the entire interior of the restaurant has been restored, transformed and decorated with historic photos from the firehouse and memorabilia.
Hose 22 has a menu that will make everyone's mouth water, featuring everything from classic burgers and sandwiches to pizzas, pasta, fried foods and more!
Open every day of the week except for Mondays, Hose 22 in Rochester is a historic gem that will give you a taste of nostalgia that you'll never forget.
Hose 22 is open all year long, but our favorite time to visit this restaurant is when it finally becomes warm enough to dine outside and for them to open up the gorgeous firehouse doors. To find out more information about this restaurant, click here.
