If you’re ready to visit the area and are wondering how you can enjoy some time outdoors, then don’t hesitate to go hiking along this short but sweet trail that leads you through an enchanted forest.
Bringing you down into the Hudson Valley where you're surrounded by all sorts of jaw-dropping natural wonders, today's hike will include a more easy-going adventure that also involves some thrill.
The Dutchess County gem is a popular place to visit for those who are looking to enjoy a picnic, with plenty of tables and shelters throughout the preserve.
In total, the park has roughly four-miles of trails that visitors are encouraged to not only hike along but to also camp along as well with lean-tos available in the forest.
Out of the miles of trails that you'll have at your fingertips, there's one that people tend to favor the most and will lead you right through the lush forest.
The first fire tower in New York to be built since 1941, the fire tower that you see standing before you today in the Ferncliff Forest was erected in 2007.
While it may make some a tad nervous to climb up 80-feet above the forest floor, those who have already taken on this hike will tell you it's incredibly rewarding.
