We’re certainly living in unprecedented times, dealing with a pandemic that has shut down – at one time or another – most of the United States. Covid-19 has also claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. In mid-March, New York saw its first coronavirus-related death. Not too long after that first death, schools statewide were shut down and, by March 20, 2020, all non-essential businesses were shut down.
The normally bustling streets of New York City, typically mixed with New Yorkers and tourists shoulder to shoulder as they rush to their destination, emptied out due to stay at home orders. During one of those quiet days of quarantine, photographer Mingomatic took absolutely haunting and beautiful drone footage of New York City. The following footage was shot by drone, from a helicopter, and even walking through the silenced streets.
