Since the coronavirus pandemic hit the globe, New York State and its businesses have been working to come up with ways to safely have fun this summer, all while safely practicing social distancing. As the weather continues to remain nice and warm and summer is upon us, we’ve seen more drive-in movie theaters than ever pop up around the Empire State, just take a look at all of the different ones that you can find down in our Hudson Valley region! If you’ve already crossed going to the movies off of your bucket list this season though, then it’s time to check out another drive-in attraction and event that’s coming to us soon – take a look.
With a mission to elevate the human spirit and enhance the community through the power of voice and music, the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice is an annual series of events that many of us New Yorkers look forward to each and every year.
Once the summer season rolls around, normally you’d begin to find New Yorkers gathering by the masses on the lawns of the festival to enjoy all sorts of performances but this year things are set to look a bit differently.
This year, the Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice is set to host the world’s first drive-in opera live performance and experience and it’s right here in our state! How lucky are we?
Hosted right here in Ulster County, on Saturday, August 29, 2020, you’ll be able to arrive on the lawns in your car and experience what it’s like to see Puccini’s Tosca performed live on stage.
Also projected on large Jumbotron screens, one of the most advanced sound systems in history will even further allow you to seriously enjoy this never-before-seen drive-in event.
If you've been itching for more ways to safely have fun this summer, all while practicing social distancing and all other necessary precautions, then end your summer with a symphonic boom by attending this year's Phoenicia International Festival of the Voice in New York!
