Many moons ago here at Only In New York, our readers may remember the fact that we shared with everyone a list of movies that were actually filmed here inside our state. Unsurprisingly though, you’ll find that quite the laundry list of television shows and movies have been filmed within the Empire State, from down in New York City to out in Syracuse – you can find filming locations just about everywhere. Showcasing one more reason to check out the small town of Garrison, see what it’s like to dine at this local restaurant that pays homage to Hello, Dolly!
Down along the Hudson River, you'll find all sorts of hidden gems, but to those who are fans of the film and Broadway production Hello, Dolly! you can discover something truly wonderful.
You may have already seen the 1969 film or even been lucky enough to check out the show on Broadway but what many don't realize is that areas all throughout the Hudson Valley like Cold Spring, Peekskill, Poughkeepsie, West Point, and of course, Garrison, were all filming locations for Hello, Dolly!.
After spending nearly 50-years as a local pub and general store, the riverfront space you see before you today now pays homage to the town's ties with the production by naming the eatery Dolly's Restaurant.
Working with local farms of the Hudson Valley, delicious dishes are created here in the restaurant like Mac and Cheese, Raw Oysters, Seafood Chowder, Steak and Fries...
