Sitting right on the northern shores of the east branch of Keuka Lake, the small village of Penn Yan is one you're going to want to visit.
Hiding right in Yates County, this one inviting village only has a population of just over 5,000 residents! If you've never been to the wonderful town of Hammondsport either, then you could easily make this into the best day trip ever. Sitting on the southern end of Keuka Lake, Hammondsport is just a short half-hour drive from Penn Yan!
If you're going to stop anywhere in town to grab a bite to eat, you're going to want to dine at the Penn Yan Diner!

One of the many things that will catch your eye in town? The World's Largest Pancake Griddle.
The original pancake griddle that was used to make the World's Largest Pancake back in 1987, the entire griddle is nearly 30-feet in diameter. Holy pancake! Today, the unusually large piece of kitchenware can be found on display right outside of the Birkett Mills Factory!

What once was home to a canal towpath and also a railroad bed, the land that now makes up the Keuka Lake Outlet Trail is simply breathtaking. The trail runs between the old Crooked Lake Canal bed and Keuka Oulet Creek, featuring waterfalls and amazing scenery. The entire trail is a total of 7-miles long, featuring a variety of smaller sections within in that you can see on the informative map at the the trailhead. A popular way to access the trail is from
