All the way out in New York State’s northwestern-most corner, you can find a magnificent piece of history that’s stood the tests of time. People from all over the Empire State and beyond make their way out to Old Fort Niagara to walk through the past and see how things once were at the historic site, with summer being the prime time to visit this place. What many people fail to realize though is that during the month of December, this waterfront fort turns into something out of the page of a Christmas storybook. If you’ve never experienced the Castle by Candlelight event, keep reading to find out why you won’t want to miss out on it!
On December 14 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., visitors are welcome to come out to Old Fort Niagara to experience the fort's annual Castle by Candlelight event that's nothing short of magical.
Thanks to more than a dozen volunteers, the Youngstown Garden Club makes their way out to the castle to completely deck it out with garland, candles, and holiday cheer.
An event you can take the entire family to, during the Castle by Candlelight event you'll be able to write with quill pens, enjoy live music, check out cooking demonstrations...
With eight pots of food being cooked over an open hearth and 18th century games that are waiting to be played, you'll love taking on this historically fun way to dive into the holiday season.
