While Lake Erie is certainly the first body of water that comes to mind when people think of Buffalo, but it’s certainly not the only Great Lake that we have easy access too. In fact, if you head just a half-hour north of the Queen City, the wonderful shores of Lake Ontario are wide open for us to explore. If you’re on the hunt for a new lake destination that’s close to home and perfect for a weekend getaway, there’s a unique campground in a gorgeous state park that offers tons of outdoor fun. Four Mile Creek State Park in Youngstown is a lakeside destination that’s too close to home not to visit.
This 250-acre park offers tons of amazing hiking and nature trails, beautiful bluffs, and seemingly endless views of lovely Lake Ontario, which can make it quite hard to tear yourself away at the end of a day exploring the area. Luckily, you don’t have to, as Four Mile Creek also has an incredible campground where you can extend your visit into a weekend getaway!
With nearly 300 campsites that can accommodate both tents and trailers, there’s plenty of room to snag a site and stay overnight.
