It’s no secret that Buffalo’s most famous dish is our wings – served up in all different flavors and varieties at restaurants and bars across the city. Thankfully, Visit Buffalo Niagara unveiled an official wing trail this year that showcases 12 of the area’s best places to grab wings. If you don’t have the time to visit all 12 stops, then try taking this delicious road trip that features some of our favorite stops to make along the trail. Take a look!

Almost all of the stops that you'll make on the Buffalo wing trail are spots that feel like small-town gems, where the size of these restaurants is small but their charm is larger than life. At Elmo's, friendly service, award-winning wings, and an overall fantastic atmosphere to kick off the Buffalo wing trail with.
Out of all the places in the city that have earned Buffalo such a grand reputation for being the master of wings, Duff's is one of a few places that you'll always hear brought up in conversation. A locally historic restaurant that's managed to grow and spread its chain throughout Western New York, Duff's has wings that you'll end up dreaming about for weeks afterward. While you can get amazing wings at any of their locations, it's their original Amherst restaurant that's always guaranteed to leave you with a great impression.
A pub that you'll feel right at home in, Coles in Buffalo is a bar and restaurant that has drool-inducing wings. So finger-licking-good that you'll manage to make room for seconds, there's a reason why this restaurant has managed to remain open for over 80 years! From the classic pub exterior to the checkered black and white floors inside, there's nothing you won't love about Coles.
Another renowned restaurant that we can guarantee you've heard of, Anchor Bar is known for being the birthplace of Buffalo's famous wings. Right on Main Street, the eye-catching building is impossible to miss and is always drawing in crowds from all over the state - not just Buffalo!
A personal favorite, Gabriel's Gate is another great stop to make along Buffalo's wing trail. Another restaurant whose exterior will intrigue you, Gabriel's Gate has an equally enjoyable interior and atmosphere that you'll love as much as their wonderful wings. A delicious spot that's been around for nearly 50 years, the inside of Gabriel's features antiques and tin-ceilings that will bring you back to the past, all while you're enjoying next-level wings that will have your taste buds praising you.
We often like to talk about the amazing burgers that are pumped out of Doc Sullivan's, but let's not be hasty to forget that they have unbelievably delicious wings as well. A bar and restaurant that has a fun and exciting atmosphere going at all times, Doc Sullivan's has earned quite a following with their Smitty Wings that are infused with a yummy butter sauce. Step outside your comfort zone and feast on these wings!
Last but not least, we couldn't advise you to explore Buffalo's wing trail without including Bar Bill Tavern. Taking you out of the city and to East Aurora, Bar Bill Tavern is set inside a historic building that's been turned into a buffalo mecca. No matter what drew you into this restaurant, the staff members are Bar Bill Tavern will always rightfully encourage you and your friends to share some wings. Trust us, you won't regret it!
