If you take a look around, you’ll find that all throughout the city of Buffalo you can find amazing pieces of architecture that will leave you completely mesmerized. Recently, we even spoke about some of the Queen City’s best man-made wonders that showcase some of what makes our little corner of Western New York so stunning. For those who are ready to take on more of the scenic beauty that our state has to offer, then it’s time to make the trip out to one of the most charming chapels that you’ll ever lay your eyes on. Check it out!
Bringing you east of Buffalo to where you're out in Yates County, our neighboring region is home to one of the most charming little chapels that you've ever seen.
Just over 100-miles from Buffalo, the Garrett Memorial Chapel is not only made up of both man-made and natural beauty, but it's also a unique piece of history.
Part of the National Register of Historic Places, the Garrett Memorial Chapel resides by the shores of Keuka Lake and is the last remains of the Garrett and Company business.
To New Yorkers and readers who are unfamiliar with Garrett and Company and this piece of our state's history, the Garrett family ran a business between 1902 and 1940 that, at the time, had them growing grapes for one of the largest wine producers in the world.
Today, the land you see before you today that was once used to grow grapes is now the site of the Garrett Memorial Chapel — built by Evelyn and Paul Garrett in memory of the son who died from tuberculosis in 1929.
