Buffalo's famous train station may not be abandoned as it once, but that doesn't mean that it still doesn't have the capability to send a shiver down your spine. Often teaming up with local companies to offer ghost tours, the spirits of travelers and World War II soldiers are known to haunt the halls of this station, forever looking for their lost luggage.
People from outside of the Queen City may be eager to book a stay at Hotel Henry, part of the Richardson Complex, but locals are almost always hesitant due to this landmark's history. Opening up in 1880 as an insane asylum, many have experienced strange happenings while touring this abandoned piece of the past. Stories of tortured patients at this asylum swirl around Buffalo. So, the question is, are you brave enough to stay at Hotel Henry?
Originally opening up back in mid-1800s, St. Mary's School for the Deaf in Buffalo is a multi-level structure that has a history of being haunted. Some who have visited the school claim that the ghosts of former nuns still inhabit the floors, while some claim to have encountered the ghost of a little boy who drowned in the school's pool years ago.
You may be used to going to Shea's Theatre in Buffalo to enjoy some of your favorite shows and performances, but have you ever felt as though you weren't alone? Many who have taken the time to check out Shea's believe the theatre is haunted with spirits, with stories that even the original owner Mr. Shea still remains in the halls of this place.
You've most likely strolled past Buffalo's jaw-dropping Naval Park before, but something you may not have picked up on is the fact that at least one of the ships along our waterfront is known to be filled with paranormal activity. That's right! U.S.S. The Sullivans offers overnight ghost tours, where you'll sleep inside the historic ship and see if you feel the spirits that are known to haunt this vessel.
The Iron Island Museum was created to celebrate Buffalo's Lovejoy District, but it quickly became a hotspot known for its paranormal activity. The structure itself has quite a history; it was built as a chuch during the 1800s and was later turned into a funeral home. Today, the museum offers ghost tours for those brave enough to come and find some ghostly evidence of their own.
Okay, so this one may not be within Buffalo's city limits, but considering the fact that it's only an hour east of us, it's more than worth mentioning. Rolling Hills Asylum is considered to be one of the best haunted attractions in all of New York State, offering a variety of ghost hunts and tours that will have the hairs on the back of your neck standing right up! A former poorhouse during the 1900s, today the spirits of former residents haunt all sorts of rooms within the building - some of which are even known to be friendly.
