Generally speaking, when it comes to spotting any kind of New Yorker, our state residents tend to unknowingly stick out like sore thumbs among the rest of the country – the best kind of sore thumbs though, of course! While the pride that comes along with being a resident of the Empire State is certainly unmatched, there’s nothing quite like being able to say that you’re from Buffalo. Well, if you’re ready to relate to everyone else in your hometown, then check out our list of things that Buffalonians will forever be stubborn about. Take a look!
1. Keeping things the same as they've always been.
If there's something that Buffalonians can all agree on, it's the fact that when something isn't broken, we're in no hurry to fix it. All throughout the Queen City, you'll find marvelous pieces of the past that have been well-preserved. We like keeping things the same around here!
2. Never letting anyone refer to Buffalo as Upstate New York.
We get it, there's a large group of people out there in the world who are convinced that it's perfectly okay to refer to anywhere outside of New York City as "Upstate New York." Well, as Buffalonians, we're here to tell you that this simply won't work for us. If you're going to refer to our area as something, just call it Western New York.
While you can certainly find quite the abundance of resturants here in our hometown that can whip up some juicy wings, when it comes to discussing which spot has the best of the best, we all get quite stubborn about this particular topic.
Other areas of the United States may try to claim that they have the best grocery store in the country, but Buffalonians are here to tell you that there's no better place to do your shopping than Wegmans.
6. Never giving into Buffalo's harsh lake-effect weather.
As much as we'd like to simply stay indoors all winter long, as residents of the Queen City, we've grown accustom to being stubborn when it comes to our local weather. After years of dealing with lake-effect weather, we've become quite stubborn about this matter - now officially refusing to ever let our harsh weather get in the way of our plans.
Even if you've ever found yourself curious enough to leave the City of Buffalo to attempt to call some other area of New York State or the rest of the country home, Buffalo will always have your heart and there's simply no denying it.
