  • Have a picnic on a spring hike: There are so many wonderful places to go on a nature walk near Buffalo. What better way can you spend a warm spring day than going on a little walk and finding the perfect picnic spot? Some of our favorite places are Chestnut Ridge in Orchard Park, Letchworth State Park in Castile, and Buffalo's own Wilkeson Pointe. Each of these places is lovely when spring flowers start to bloom.
  • Go on a spring train ride: The Arcade & Attica Railroad in Western New York has several scenic train rides you can take. Whether you take a simple jaunt to see the sights or sign up for one of its themed train rides, you are bound to have a good time. One of our favorite rides during the spring is the Easter Bunny Express and Easter Egg Hunt Event. It is a fun family-friendly event with plenty of Easter surprises.
  • Go swimming at Stony Brook State Park: If we are treated to an unusually warm spring day, another of our favorite things to do is head to Stony Brook State Park for a short hike and maybe a little dip near the waterfall. There is also a more official natural spring-fed swimming pool that is a ton of family fun. With plenty of hiking trails to explore in the park, it makes for a fun time even if the water is too chilly to swim for long.
