Buffalo has plenty of signature dishes that have come of our city, but our love for poutine is one that we gratefully adopted from our northern neighbors in Canada. While many of us will go as far as traveling across the border to get this tasty dish, some of us have already discovered that there’s actually an amazing poutine spot right here in the Queen City! Owned by two friendly Canadians who are from just across the way in Fort Erie, find out why you’ll be a lifelong customer of this one shop after just one visit.
Located in Buffalo's Allentown District, Allen Street Poutine Company was the first poutinerie to open up in the Queen City almost four years ago.
Allen Street Poutine Company is a modern-style restaurant that is 1.5 stories tall, with the majority of the seating located downstairs and a handful of smaller tables upstairs that overlook the restaurant.
At this little slice of poutine paradise, you'll find more varieties of poutine than you could have ever dreamed of, with 20 different poutine dishes on their menu at all times.
All of the varieties of poutine are made up of delicious double-fried french fries, cheese curds from Yancey's Fancy in Corfu, and housemade gravy that will make your mouth water.
At this poutinerie, you'll have your choice from options like Chicken Quesadilla, General Tao, Baked Potato, and Montreal Smoked meat poutine. Your head may start spinning when you're looking over this amazing menu!
And Allen Street Poutine Company is also known to create some pretty stomach-rumbling good milkshakes that are great to top off any poutine with if you still have room left!
Allen Street Poutine Company is located at 242 Allen Street, Buffalo NY 14201 and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 a.m., Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 4 a.m. and Sunday from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. The restaurant is closed on Mondays.
