Though Polish culture has played a large role in Buffalo’s history, it continues to thrive outside of the major spotlight. Beyond the bright lights of Downtown, you’ll find historic attractions like Mazurek’s Bakery – the only remaining Polish bakery in Buffalo – sprinkled throughout the city. If you’re looking for another unique Polish destination to visit, head to this gorgeous church that happens to be the oldest in the Queen City!
You'll find the incredible St. Stanislaus Bishop & Martyr Roman Catholic Church in the Historic Polonia District on Buffalo's east side.
As you look to the back of the church, you'll see the Johnson & Son pipe organ in the choir loft. This incredible instrument has been a part of the church since 1893.
St. Stanislaus, also known as the 'Mother Church of Polonia’, is a stunning point of pride for Buffalonians with Polish ancestral roots, but even those without ties to Poland will feel a sense of peace and joy at this stunning landmark.
The church’s striking towers stand 217 feet tall and are a recognizable landmark on Townsend Street, so you’ll have no trouble finding this heavenly place.
