One of the ultimate perks to living here in Buffalo is that we get to call a city home that's situated right on the waterfront.
If you head on over to Broderick Park and make use of the parking lot at the southern end of Unity Island, you can enjoy a waterfront adventure like no other.
This is the ultimate river walk - you'll feel like you're floating on water as you make your way down this narrow slice of walkway situated in the middle of the Niagara River's famous vibrant waters.
There's also a correlation between the name of this pier and what you'll find here - birds! As you make your way down this mile-long stretch, you'll see all types of feathered friends out on the pier and river.
Of course, one of the most magical parts about this river walk is that it'll take you right underneath the Peace Bridge - another amazing sight to see in the evening hours when it's all lit up.
Now that Buffalo's temperatures are finally rising, the pier becomes an exciting place to explore, as you'll start to see more wildlife come out to join us and the local rowing teams fly by on the water.
This is one of the most scenic walks you'll ever experience here in the Queen City, so come see for yourself why there's no other river walk like the Bird Island Pier in Buffalo.
Something outsiders may not know? Broderick Park was one of the last stops on the Underground Railroad! So as you're exploring the park and Bird Island Pier, pay attention to all of those historical signs that you'll pass along the way.
