Buffalo and Erie County Botanical Gardens’ enchanting Lumagination event kicks off on January 26th, 2019 and is sure to be one of the best yet.
This spectacular light show is easily one of the most eagerly anticipated events in Western New York and offers a mesmerizing way to the beat mid-winter blues.
The annual event takes on a unique theme each year, with this year’s being The Magic of Air .
Aside from the hypnotizing light show and upbeat music, The Magic of Air will bring us illuminated dancing silks and bouncing paper cranes…
… as well as hot air balloons and creative kites of all sizes decorating the lush greenhouses and gardens.
You’ll find metallic mobiles and shimmering fabrics surrounding the standard exhibits, bringing an ethereal, otherworldly vibe to the already lovely gardens.
As soon as you step in the door, you’ll be whisked away to a whole new world of vibrant colors and marvelous music that brings the exotic flora and tranquil waterfalls to life in a magical way.
This family-friendly experience dazzles visitors of all ages. In addition to the light show, Lumagination will also offer Family Nights, Sensory Nights, Hero Night, Pride Night, College Night, and a Valentine’s Day show.
As you can imagine, this event attracts many photographers and videographers looking to capture the magic. While camera tripods are not allowed inside, Lumagination will host Photo Night on January 29th for both professional and amateur shutterbugs to enjoy the show from behind the lens.

Lumagination will run from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on most nights, but stays open until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
