As a city that sits along the shores of Lake Erie, as Buffalonians we’re more than accustomed to hanging out on scenic beaches. With temperatures steadily rising in the Queen City and warm weather here to stay, now is the ultimate time to start planning which getaways you’ll be taking this year to cool off. Considered to be one of the best beaches in all of Western New York, see why residents of Buffalo continue to return to this hidden beach time and time again that’s just outside of the city!
Just a quick, 40-minute drive south will bring you to Sunset Bay in the tiny town of Irving - an ultimate staycation destination in Western New York.
At Cabana Sam’s, you'll get to dine on delicious cuisine as you gaze out at the water. The beachside restaurant also includes an ice cream stand and video arcade.
While we certainly love grabbing dessert from Beaches & Cream and eating dinner at Cabana Sam's, it's the neighboring Beach Club that we can't get enough of during Buffalo's warmest months.
Cleaned on a daily basis and equipped with lifeguards each day from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., it's easy to see why so many people make the easy drive out to Sunset Bay when they're craving some lake living.
