“Where should we go to eat?” It’s an age-old question that we ask our friends and family on a weekly basis. Figuring out what and where to eat for lunch or dinner can feel like a struggle, especially when you have as many tasty choices as we do here in Buffalo. If you’re feeling indecisive about what to eat today, we’re here to help you out! There’s a fantastic little restaurant hiding just outside of the city that serves one of the best grilled chicken sandwiches in the entire western half of New York. If your mouth isn’t watering yet, it will be soon!
Mississippi Mudds is a roadside eatery that’s been serving up hungry Buffalonians for 30 years, and it’s located only 15 minutes from the city.
You’ll find it in Tonawanda, and it’s not hard to spot from the road - the quirky exterior is certainly eye-catching! Mississippi Mudds sits just across the Riverwalk and offers absolutely spectacular views of the Niagara River.
Although the Grilled Chicken Sandwich is certainly a highlight, Mississippi Mudds serves up several other fan-favorites on their menu. Try their Louisiana Sweet Potato Fries drizzled with honey and butter, a Sahlen’s hot dog, or one of the yummy burgers.
If you’re not a fan of sweet potato friends, indulge in one of the many other options on the menu, like Chili Cheese Fries, Cheese & Bacon Fries, and even Garlic Parmesan Fries. YUM!
If, by some miracle, you still have room after a delicious sandwich and fries, we commend you. Your stomach must have the elasticity of Stretch Armstrong. However, there’s no way you’re leaving Mississippi Mudds anything less than stuffed. Just fill up that space with one of their mouthwatering desserts, like Perry’s ice cream for frozen custard on a homemade waffle cone!
