Here in the heart of Buffalo, you can find all sorts of amazing museums that are worth visiting, in fact, we recently covered just how amazing The Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Children’s Museum – a.k.a. Explore & More – is! While we love being able to discover wonderful attractions like this within our own backyard, one of the other advantages to living here in Western New York is that we have so many other fantastic attractions and destinations that are worth visiting as well. Taking you just south of the city, see why you’ll want to check out this unique glassblowing experience for yourself.
South of Buffalo where you're down along New York's Southern Tier, the Corning Musem of Glass is one of our state's best attractions.
Unlike any other museum that you'll find here in Western New York, the Corning Museum of Glass has been highlighting the art of glassmaking since 1951.
The most exciting element to this museum though is the fact that you can not only just watch master glassmakers hard at work, but you can also participate in the fun too!
Take a seat in the museum's ampitheater and you'll be able to find Hot Glass Demonstrations taking place here just outside the city of Buffalo - and boy, is this worth the drive!
Those who come to check out the museum’s Hot Glass Demonstrations will be able to watch live glassblowing demonstrations, something that’s actually offered every day, all throughout the year.
Giving you a front row seat to watching some of the world's best glassmakers work their magic, this is one experience you, your friends, and family won't forget.
Plus, you may be familiar with the fact that the museum takes their glass blowing demonstrations on the road with them at their hot shops that travel around the state of New York!
For those who are looking to get extra creative here at the museum, they also offer a "You Design It; We Make It" experience where visitors can draw a design out and then the master glassmakers bring that idea to life.
While the museum also features Make-Your-Own Glass experiences that last anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes, depending on the size work of art you're looking to take home with you.
Also ranging in price depending on what you choose, you’ll be able to make things like tumblers, ornaments, pendants, windchimes, picture frames, night lights, clocks, and so much more.
