If you’re someone who loves to get outside and explore the outdoors, then living anywhere in Western New York is like having your own personal playground. From the famous waterfalls that exist here to the epic gorge trails that are unlike any other, you’ll find that there’s always an adventure waiting for you when you live in this neck of the woods. Located just east of Buffalo, Conklin’s Gully is the most adventurous trail near the city and you’ll want to explore it ASAP!
Take the scenic drive out to Ontario County and, before you know it, you'll reach the High Tor Wildlife Management Area.
Right near the town of Naples and not far from the southern shores of Canandaigua Lake, Conklin's Gully is a gorgeous hike that combines all your favorite things about Western New York into one trail.
One of the most epic things about hiking through Conklin's Gully though is that toward the end of the trail, you'll encounter steep areas of the gorge that require the help of holding onto a rope. Seriously, this place is a natural playground!
While you may be hesitant to hike up the side of waterfalls and to cross over creeks, the views at the end of this trail and all inside Conklin's Gully are more than rewarding.
This trail is especially gorgeous to hike through during the fall when Western New York's foliage is shining through. If you're ready to take on an adventurous hike, then it's time you make the drive out to Conklin's Gully in Ontario County.
