In between major lake-effect storms and shoveling the snow off our cars, driveways, and roofs, Buffalonians exploring the city often notice old pieces of history being transformed into something new. Check out the latest – and tastiest – reason to visit the Larkin District:
What was once a warehouse for the Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company located on the corner of Swan and Hamburg Streets has been transformed into the newest brewery in Buffalo: Belt Line Brewery & Kitchen.
For those who may have grown up outside of Buffalo, the brewery gets its name from the Belt Line Railroad - a 19-stop rail line that was built in 1882 and once ran around the city.
Not only does the brewery's name pay homage to the historic belt-shaped railroad, Belt Line’s beers are also are named after local and train-related pieces of history.
All around the taproom, you'll notice historic photos from the days of Buffalo's Belt Line Railroad and shots that were captured around the neighborhood that will fill you with hometown pride.
Belt Line Brewery is located at 545 Swan St., Buffalo, NY and is open Tuesday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., Friday & Saturday from noon to midnight, and on Sunday from noon to 8 p.m. Belt Line is closed on Mondays.
