There are a shocking number of waterfalls in Buffalo, making it the perfect spot for waterfall chasers to visit. Not only do we of course have Niagara Falls, but there are many lesser-known, hidden waterfalls in Buffalo that you can hike up to to find a bit more solitude.

There are lots of hidden gems in Buffalo, and no trip to our city is complete without trying to do as the locals do.

  • Pick up a new hot read at Westside Stories Bookstore, enjoy a delicious snack at the café at Albright Knox Museum, or take a stroll through the charming Beaver Meadow Audubon Center.

Can I visit abandoned places around Buffalo?

If you are looking for a good dose of the chills, there are some awesome abandoned places in and around Buffalo that you can visit to get your fill. Buffalo is known as New York's most haunted city, so there is no shortage of spooky opportunities in Queen City.

  • One must-visit is the Rolling Hills Asylum in East Bethany. It's about an hour from the city center, but this overwhelmingly spooky spot is just begging to be admired. It's chock full of history and tales of ghostly activity.
