Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a 52 acre slice of paradise that dates back to 1910. It has collected over 14,000 types of plants, many of which form smaller specialty gardens throughout the campus.

The garden is a not-for-profit corporation, drawing in some 800,000 annual visitors. In its collections, you'll find hundreds of at-risk and rare species. 
Some of its most iconic plants are the numerous cherry trees, which represent 42 different varieties of cultivated and natural species. When they bloom, it's magical.

These stunning plants are a wonder in the spring months. However, plants are in bloom nearly all year round, thanks to their indoor growing spaces.
Truth be told, however, the Brooklyn Botanic Garden is magical all year round, especially in places like the Native Flora Garden.

Since 1911, the Native Flora Garden has allowed visitors to appreciate and understand the splendor of local species. Now three acres in size, it spotlights plants native to landscapes within 100 miles of NYC. 
There are many gardens within the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, including the Fragrance Garden and the kid-friendly Discovery Garden.
