If you’re looking to visit some of our country’s most visited tourist attractions, you’ll find that some of the most fascinating places can be found in New York. Just recently Expedia released their Top 55 Breathtaking Destinations In The World, and as you might have already guessed by this point, two incredible places from our state were named on this list.

Making the Top 10 on this list, the village of Watkins Glen was ranked the Number 6 destination in the entire world.

One thing I personally can't get over is the fact that these 55 locations were picked from the entire world. Not just our country, but the world. Anyone else feeling excited?
Located at the southern tip of Seneca Lake, this charming Finger Lakes village is well-known for its wine and waterfalls.

Found out in Schuyler County, as of 2010 this village only has a population of 1, 859 residents! With a place so small, you might not that think that would be much to see here, but boy would you be wrong!
The area features the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, drawing in many thirsty visitors throughout the year.

Pictured above, you can see Lakewood Vineyards just one of the many delicious vineyards you can visit to experience a day of unforgettable wine tasting. If you aren't familiar with any of the wine trails that can be found out in the Finger Lakes wine region, this location might just be the perfect place to start.

The area also draws in a great amount of visitors with its famous racetrack, Watkins Glen International. Race car enthusiasts from all over the country will come here to experience the track!
But the main reason most people associate this village with being the most beautiful place in New York? Watkins Glen State Park.

A place our residents love to talk about and visit frequently, this incredible state park is like stepping into the most perfect dream. The state park features the Gorge Trail, a 2-mile hike that allows you to experience a total of nineteen waterfalls, some of which you'll even walk underneath! The trail is one of New York's most visited outdoor attractions and is a place you won't be able to full appreciate until you see it for yourself in person. There's absolutely nothing like New York's gorgeous gorges.

The second destination that made the Number 33 spot is the city of Niagara Falls.

New York is home to handfuls of waterfalls that will completely steal your breath away, but the American Falls are a sight to be seen. One of the many attractions we share with Canada, the falls feature America's most monumental boat ride, the Maid of the Mist. The waterfalls are considered to be amongst the top tourist attractions in all of America and have consistently been able to allow the city to thrive off of all of its tourism.
The American Falls aren't the only outdoor attraction along the Niagara River that draws in visitors!

Pictured above you can see the adventurous Whirlpool Point State Park in Niagara Falls. The state park is highly underrated and often goes unnoticed by most visitors who come solely to experience the American Falls. Whirlpool Point features two levels, one at street level that features amazing overlooks and another at the base where you can hike the Whirlpool Rapids Trail along the river!
