All sorts of exciting things come along with the beginning of a new year, but one of our favorite things to keep an eye out for are all the different new-year awards and accolades that are given out to attractions and destinations all across New York State. Back in January, we spoke about how Forbes recognized that our Hudson Valley Region was one of the best places to keep on your radar for 2020, but that isn’t the only area of our state making headlines! Unveiling their Top 24 destinations that will be the most popular to visit in 2020, Bloomberg featured New York's Finger Lakes Region on one of their most recent lists.
While we already know all of the things that we love about this scenic region of New York, Bloomberg highlighted things like the area's natural wonders, food scene, fascinating history, and of course, the wineries.
For those of our residents or out-of-town readers who have never had the chance to explore this area of the Empire State, we're more than happy to further fill you in on some of the things that make the Finger Lakes so special.
With 11 different lakes, the hardest part will be deciding what area of this region you'll have time to visit!

First and foremost, this region will leave you completely in awe with all of its beautiful farmland, rolling hills, scenic byways, and lakefront views.
The small towns out here will quickly grab at your heartstrings, from breathtaking towns like Skaneateles that sit along one of New York's most clear lakes, while last year Aurora was named one of the best small towns to visit - an area Bloomberg noted for being the college town of the founder of American Girl, who now owns five inns in town.
Or how about the fact that this region is home to an amazing little farm and getaway that offers cow cuddling sessions?
Adventurers will find themselves more than busy in the Finger Lakes with an endless list of state parks that are home to some of New York's largest and most stunning waterfalls, as well as some of our state's most famous hiking trails, and plenty of on-the-water activities that will show you why so many people love living out here.

If you're looking to slow things down and see a different side of this area, 2020 marks the centennial of the 19th Ammendment - something that will be celebrated with parades, special museum exhibits, and special happenings at the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls.
