What was formerly the "hunting lodge" of Commodore Frederick Gilbert Bourne is open for tours, during which visitors can fully immerse themselves in this magnificent estate.
For those looking to spend less time outside and more time cozying up indoors by the fire or exploring a small town, head to Saranac Lake or Lake Placid for great shopping, eats, and brews. Both areas have some great hiking spots in the region as well, so you can get the best of both worlds.
