We’ll be the first to tell you here at Only In New York, that it’s our small towns within the Empire State that are so some of the most charming destinations that you’ll ever visit. Recently, the folks over at Orbitz put together a list of the country’s most charming small towns and one of our favorite New York destinations happened to make their list! Wondering what’s so great about spending time in Aurora? Then let’s show you what this lakefront town has to offer.
Out along the shores of Cayuga Lake, the small village of Aurora has been recognized as one of the most charming places to visit in all of the United States.
With only a small group of residents lucky enough to call this place home, Orbitz pointed out that Aurora has so much to offer. From its close proximity to the mass abundance of waterfalls in the Finger Lakes region to the fact that the town sits out along the lakefront, it was quickly proven that there's so much to love about this place.
From all over the Finger Lakes and beyond, people travel to town just explore places like the Mackenzie-Childs store and historic prorperty that's out on NY-90.
Easy to find on Lake Road in town, Long Point Winery showcases some of our favorite things about visiting the Finger Lakes - like the amazing wine and even better views.
With so much to do and see in town, you'll most likely want to spend more than just an afternoon exploring all that there is here. That's where destinations like the Aurora Inn come into play!
If you're ready to experience what it's like to explore one of America's most charming small towns, then look no further than Cayuga County's very own village of Aurora.
