Most people naturally think of the Finger Lakes at the mention of New York's most famous wineries, but don't sleep on the Adirondacks when it comes to spending a weekend exploring a new wine trail, because this region has a lot to offer.
If you head upstate and explore the coast of Lake Champlain, you'll discover a collection of wineries that span 33 miles, known as the Adirondack Coast Wine Trail.
There are six wineries and cideries along the trail: Amazing Grace Vineyard, Elfs Farm Winery and ADK Hard Cider, Everett Orchards, Hid-In-Pines Vineyard, The Champlain Wine Company, and Vesco Ridge Vineyard.
Head to Vesco Ridge Vineyards and enjoy peaceful and marvelous views of the countryside while you sip on a glass of wine on the terrace patio. And don't forget to drop by the gift shop for a variety of gourmet items like red wine jelly and chocolate wine sauce.
Amazing Grace Vineyard and Winery is another great stop on this scenic wine tour. This rustic spot tucked away in the mountains offers a variety of red, white, blush, and fruit wines.
No matter what your wine of choice is, you're bound to enjoy at least one of these vineyards along your journey. Even if wine isn't your drink of choice, drop by Everett Orchards, a seventh-generation cidery on the trail with some of the best hard cider you'll find upstate.
