Where can I go swimming in New Mexico?

When the weather heats up, it’s time to find a spot to go swimming! And some of the best spots are ones that are found in nature. Near Roswell, you can find Bottomless Lakes State Park filled with sinkholes you can go swimming in or paddleboarding on. The Blue Hole in Santa Rosa is an incredible spot for both swimming and scuba diving and has water so clear you can almost see to the bottom. Does New Mexico have any beaches?

Although the Land of Enchantment is a landlocked state, it does have several sandy beaches. Tingley Beach in Albuquerque is home to crystal clear water and a small stretch of sand, perfect to relax on. About an hour north of Albuquerque in Pena Blanca, Cochiti Lake has a wide beach where you can either relax on the sand or go beachcombing to find shells as well as beach glass. Navajo Lake, the second largest lake in the state, has a beach with exceptional views of the lake and surrounding landscape.

What other fun water parks are there in New Mexico?

Are you ready for some summertime family fun at a water park? If so, you may want to consider heading to Metro Verde Splash Pad and Park in Las Cruces with loads of different water activities, fun for the whole family. In Albuquerque, Cliff's Amusement Park’s WaterMania has a section called Li’l Squirts which is good for smaller children and their parents to enjoy and a section for older children and teens called Mega Water Monkeys.
