Dine Inside An Old Train Station At This Incredible Northern New Mexico Restaurant
New Mexico’s restaurants offer many different dining experiences, but did you know you can dine upon a famous railroad line? This restaurant in Santa Fe doesn’t just hold amazing stories from the past, it’s also home to some of the best food in the north. Prepare yourself for the best northern New Mexico comfort food around, all inside an old train station!

This Santa Fe restaurant is home to some of the Wild Wild West’s richest history.

This line started in the 1870’s to make great connectors between states. The Chile Line was a seven hour trip between Antonio and Santa Fe. In 1931, Guadalupe Station made its last departure, but now this historic building holds the beloved Tomasita’s!

This restaurant has been in the family for years. The Founder, Georgia Maryol, started at a small café in the '70s and worked with Tomasita Leyba who provided her with family recipes. After outgrowing the cafe in 1979, Georgie and Tomasita moved on to start the restaurant in the little red brick building. Though Georgia retired, her family took over and keeps the restaurant alive.

Tomastia’s stays true to northern New Mexico comfort food.

The red and green chiles are sourced from Rio Grande valley. Everything from the beef to the honey for sopapillas is made possible by partnerships with local farmers.

Tomasita’s is one of the few restaurants that offers chicos on its menu—kernels of corn dried using methods that date back thousands of years. It’s all about the corn!

Tomasitia’s opened a second location in Albuquerque in 2017, and it’s just as delicious!
Though it’s not located in an old train station, the atmosphere stays true to northern New Mexico farm house feel.
