Hot Springs in New Mexico

Where can I find natural hot springs in New Mexico?

New Mexico is a bit of a hotspot for hot springs, and there are plenty to choose from no matter what kind of spring you prefer. Some are developed, with resorts and getaways built up around them, but others have been allowed to remain natural and free, and honestly, those ones are the best ones (though if you disagree and prefer the developed hot springs, be sure to read the next paragraph). Our favorite natural hot springs in New Mexico include warm gems like San Antonio Hot Springs, which is just outside of Jemez Springs (the town) and contains crystal-clear, pleasantly warm water. That one’s a test to get to, though; it’s only accessible with a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Montezuma Hot Springs is another good one, though it is quite popular and sometimes gets a little wild. The Spence Hot Springs are great too! For more ideas, check out this article for both developed and undeveloped hot springs in New Mexico.

What are some excellent getaways in New Mexico?

Who says New Mexico isn’t an excellent getaway state? We sure don’t! As it turns out, New Mexico really IS a land of enchantment, much like its slogan states; it’s a wonderful place for anyone who loves enjoying the great outdoors, as the outdoors in New Mexico are definitely great. Explore caves, waterfalls, hot springs, and more; some of our favorite locales for getaways in New Mexico include the town of Taos, which is wonderful year-round (but especially during winter), and awe-inspiring natural wonders like White Sands National Monument, which has plenty of nearby resorts to choose from. Albuquerque is a great destination in New Mexico, too, and so is Santa Fe. Or, if you’d rather enjoy nature away from the city, check out the Blue Hole. Trust us... it’s worth it.
