Who doesn’t love going to fun festivals during the hot New Mexico summers? This one festival, however, is completely out of this world! Coinciding with one of the most debated incidents in history, this extraterrestrial festival celebrates the weird and wacky history of Roswell, and lets us all embrace our weirdness. Get ready to judge aliens, hear awesome speakers, and experience an event that is simply from another galaxy!
After sticks of metal, scraps, and later, a saucer were found, the U.S. Air Force became involved, and in 1950 even started doing "dummy drops" in Roswell, said to test the falls of pilots.

Many skeptics believed that these "tests" were really a cover up from the UFO droppings in Roswell.
The Air Force claimed the droppings and saucer were a part of their project, Project Mogul, which involved materials for weather balloons. Due to the strange ways they moved, many believe the government was trying to cover up extraterrestrial findings.
The City of Roswell is extremely welcoming, and this festival is fun for everyone. The majority of the activities are free, though local museums and planetariums have their own fees.
Activities include a costume contest, a pet costume contest, an amazing parade, and many other family-friendly activities.
