We don’t always need a reason to embark on a weekend getaway. Whisk away that special someone or your family into any of New Mexico’s remote mountain villages for a relaxing trip any time and you’ll leave feeling refreshed. One place you should definitely check out for such a getaway is Hurd La Rinconada Gallery & Guest Homes in San Patricio, New Mexico.
Originally the home of artists Peter Hurd and Henriette Wyeth-Hurd (the sister of artist Andrew Wyeth), this unique location combines an art gallery, winery and tasting room, and overnight accommodations in a guest house all in one.
Original artwork from three generations of the artistic family line the walls, including pieces from the couple's son Michael Hurd, artist Andrew Wyeth, his father N.C. Wyeth, and writer Paul Horgan. You can also find prints and original pieces to take home.

Also located on the grounds is the Sentinel Ranch Winery and Tasting Room.
This recent addition is directly attached to the gallery, so you won't have to travel far to combine wine and art. The menu includes a combination of white and red wines—which can be purchased by the bottle here—and appetizers to accompany your tasting experience.
Clean, comfortable, and cozy, each guest house offers relaxing accommodations for two or more guests. Each has an enclosed yard, basic cooking and dining supplies, internet access, and bathroom amenities.
Each guest house has its own rustic charm and is decorated with family artwork.
Cattle grazing, vineyards being tended, and the peaceful landscape surrounding the Rio Ruidoso. This place is still a working cattle ranch and with the new vineyards, it's easy to get a taste of pastoral life.
Hurd La Rinconada Gallery & Guest Homes is located in San Patricio, approximately 51 miles west of Roswell via U.S. Route 70.
Another serene ranch-style getaway can be found at Los Poblanos Historic Inn and Organic Farm in Albuquerque. This ranch has roots that stretch back to the 1700s and today you can not only walk the grounds of the ranch, but also book a stay, dine at their restaurant, and purchase fresh, farm-made goods.
