I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
There’s the saying, “Good things come in small packages,” and that certainly seems to be the case at the Miniatures & Curious Collections Museum in Roswell. With 5,000 square feet of space filled with miniature houses and related miniature items, this is one of the quirkiest places in New Mexico you can go.
Welcome to the Miniatures & Curious Collections Museum in Roswell, New Mexico. Here you'll discover a whole new world -- in miniature form!
This museum displays antique, collectible, fine, and handcrafted miniatures that are as whimsical as they are fascinating to look at. There's no other museum quite like this in New Mexico.
Among the miniature displays you'll encounter are charming vintage and dollhouses as well as furniture, themed displays with figurines, and videos and signage showing the backgrounds of the artists and stories behind each piece.
Each and every house has so much intricate detail from the furniture to the decor to the figurines and more. You could look at a piece for hours and probably discover something new!
If you have kids with you, there's a children's play area with dolls and playhouses, a desk with drawing supplies, and building blocks. They'll love it here!
The Miniatures & Curious Collections Museum is open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. Admission is free but donations are gladly accepted.
