New Mexico is chock-full of great restaurants, but it’s always fun to find the hidden gems. Pie Town is a tiny town in the southern part of the state that got its name because it’s, “3.14 miles from nowhere!” While the town is remote, it definitely has a sense of humor, and it’s well worth a visit. While you’re there, stop in for a bite to eat at Pie Town Cafe.
Pie Town is a tiny town with fewer than 200 residents. You'll find it out along U.S. Highway 60 in Catron County.
Every burger is handmade with eight ounces of USDA ground beef, and grilled up perfectly. It's dressed with lettuce, tomato, onions, and dill pickles, then served with a side of fries, refried pinto beans, chips and salsa, or coleslaw.
You might also want to try the Mexican dishes. The enchiladas, carnitas, and tacos are to die for, and you can get a beef burrito the size of your head.
When you're dining in a place called Pie Town, you'd better be saving some room for dessert. The specialty of the house is New Mexico Apple Pie, which includes green chilies and pinon nuts. It's absolutely delicious.
