New Mexico is home to some truly unique places, and that even includes our restaurants. Here’s a quick peek at some places around the state that will give you an unforgettable dining experience with quirky decorations, odd menus, themed dining, or even singing staff.
This historic restaurant near Silver City looks a bit rough on the outside, but you will love dining for both the food and the entertainment. Grab a seat in the saloon-like atmosphere, order a steak, and enjoy some live music.
Note (June 2020): La Casa Sena is currently finalizing plans for reopening amid Coronavirus concerns. Keep an eye on the restaurant's Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.
It’s no secret that Roswell has become famous for its possible connection to aliens, and that even extends to the town’s restaurants. The McDonald’s in town follows that theme and it’s one of the most unique fast food restaurants you will ever step foot in. Alien and space-related décor dominates the space here and even the building’s design looks to be out of this world.

A previous article on this site described Saggios as a "kitsch-laden Italian sports bar," and I have to say that’s an accurate description of this restaurant. The Italian food is tasty, the beers are cold, and the oddball collection of decorations will throw you for a loop. You’ll find a combination of items reminiscent of ancient Rome, wacky murals, a taxi cab, and more all stuffed into this restaurant.
If a unique dining experience for you means consuming chile in every way possible, then you are going to love this little restaurant in Hatch. The green chile burgers are delicious, but be sure to try out some of the strange combinations, like a chile mango shake, a green chile lemonade, a chile latte, or any of their other dishes that come with a generous heap of green chiles mixed in.
In the mood for a cuppa that allows you to slow down and enjoy time with friends? Check out this tearoom that features classy and themed tea service in Albuquerque.
