New Mexico may be well and rightfully known for its take on Mexican cuisine but did you know it’s also home to some of the tastiest sandwiches in the country?
This meat-packed sandwich is just one of the many options you can find over at Slow Roasted Bocadillos, an Albuquerque sandwich shop that has been serving mouthwatering sammies for seven years.
The sandwich shop is hidden away inside Albuquerque's Wells Fargo building on Lomas (don't worry — it's on the first floor just past the entrance) but that makes finding this hidden gem that much more enticing.
The sandwich shop has been winning awards locally and nationally for years now, including being featured on Food Network shows a whopping five times! You can bet the meals here are exceptionally tasty.
What makes the food here so yummy? The ingredients and processes are focused on being local, fresh, and slow. The bread is sourced from local bakeries, the meats are slow-roasted, and all soups are made from scratch.
The sandwiches here are massive and potentially messy, in a sauce and cheese oozing out the sides kind of way. The divine savory flavors are all worth it though!
If you're hoping to pair your sandwich with soup, be sure to try one of their daily specials! You'll find options like clam chowder, posole, green chile stew, and more.
It is open weekdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is closed on weekends. You can find details about the menu, special events, and daily specials by visiting their website or Facebook page.
