2. Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge, San Antonio
Most people tend to visit this wildlife refuge in the winter season when the sandhill cranes and other exotic birds rest here. However, the refuge becomes a lush, impossibly green oasis once the temperatures warm up and you’ll be hard pressed to find a prettier place to spend a spring afternoon.
We actually featured this beautiful spot in a previous article and still think it’s one place you’ll want to see over and over again. Dripping Springs features an easy hiking trail that will take you to a seasonal waterfall and the ruins of a tuberculosis sanatorium.
If secret gardens are your passion, then you are going to love checking out the garden at this gallery, especially as the temperatures warm up and flowers bloom. The various sculptures strewn around the garden only make this place even more enchanting.
Add a visit to a beautiful hot spring resort to your 2018 to-do list by checking out Riverbend Hot Springs in Truth or Consequences. This resort features some gorgeous views of the Rio Grande, nearby mountains, and other beautiful sights all from the convenience of a hot spring tub.
Location: 100 Austin Street, Truth or Consequences
Summer is when this garden really shines because the flowers are blossoming but you can still enjoy the beginning stages of those blooms when you visit in the spring.
If you’re looking for a chance to really get out into nature and explore the beauty surrounding us, you’ll want to plan a hike to this location north of Albuquerque. Head out for a hike to enjoy the beautiful surroundings, a waterfall, and the Jemez River.
This is one of the newest national preserves in the state and country, and it sits right in the middle of a massive volcanic caldera. The picturesque views look especially pretty in the spring time and you’ll enjoy exploring the pastoral landscape.
Those places certainly look beautiful! Do you have any other favorite spots around the state where you love watching the landscape come alive in the spring season?
