Summer is slowly inching its way into New Mexico. If you haven’t quite figured out your plans to escape this heat this year—don’t worry, everyone else’s plans are up in the air right now—then you may want to take a look at one enchanting spot with some of the cleanest, clearest waters in New Mexico.
Welcome to the Blue Hole, a swimming hole and diving destination found right in the middle of an otherwise arid section of New Mexico.
The pool is located in Santa Rosa, which sits about 115 miles east of Albuquerque via Interstate 40.
Blue Hole has been a popular swimming destination for decades, thanks in part to its crystal clear, deep blue water and cool temperature that naturally stays at 62 degrees.
The Blue Hole has since transformed into one of the top swimming and diving destinations in the country, bringing thousands of visitors to the otherwise sleepy little town each year.
The Blue Hole is typically open year-round for swimming, diving, and fishing. You can find the current hours of operation and obtain a day pass or a diving permit by calling the number below.
