You'll find Mary & Tito's Cafe at 2711 4th St. NW, Albuquerque, NM 87107.
This little cafe isn't fancy. In fact, it doesn't even have a website or an official Facebook page. That's because it doesn't need one - the food here speaks for itself, and is nationally recognized.
Check out the awards that join the family photos lining the walls. You'll find accolades from TripAdvisor, Albuquerque the Magazine, the Travel Channel, Eater.com, and the James Beard Foundation.
The cafe got its start in 1963, when Mary and Tito Gonzales opened it as a small, family-owned spot for homemade cuisine. Though Tito passed away in 1990, and Mary passed in 2013, the Gonzalez family still runs this little adobe restaurant.
Absolutely everything on the menu here shines, but the carne adovada is what made this place world-renowned. The fork-tender pork is perfectly seasoned. Get it in a bowl with a side of tortillas...
Visit Mary & Tito's Cafe to see what all the fuss is about - you'll be back time and time again. It's open Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., closed Sunday.
