When it comes to quality food and goods, New Mexico is full of the best of the best. If you’re looking for a delightful treat, a fun tour, and some fine wine, you can find it all at this quaint pistachio farm in Alamogordo. After taking a farm tour, you can sample the finest pistachios, and then take a picture next to the loveliest statue around. A trip to this pistachio farm is the perfect treat any day of the week.
Welcome to Heart of the Desert Pistachio Farm and Vineyard!
This is no small pistachio farm. In fact, it's the largest in New Mexico. Eagle Ranch is home to 85 acres of over 12,000 pistachio groves, which makes for quite the sight.
Did we mention this is also a vineyard? Heart of the Desert planted 12,000 vines in 2003, and within the first year added 6,000 more. These award-winning wines are also available to sample on the farm, and there are over a dozen of them to choose from.
Free farm tours are offered that give you a peek into the process of harvesting pistachios and grapes for wine. These tours are fun for everyone, and did we mention that they’re free?
When at Heart of the Desert, you’ll find the heart of all hearts. The World’s Largest Heart is located on this beautiful farm; at 26 feet fall and 20 feet wide, this is the perfect photo-op.
Heart of the Desert's farm is located at 7288 Highway 54 70, Alamogordo, NM.
