I'm an east coast girl living in a west coast world. I grew up in New England before moving to SoCal for several years. I then lived in NYC or a year before moving to AZ in 2009. I worked in the entertainment industry for many years of my adult life and have a deep love for photography, writing, and traveling around the U.S. as well as to far-flung locations around the world. Travel is my life and writing about it is a dream!
With a wide-open landscape and a paved trail, you can walk, jog, hike, or bike along the Paseo de la Mesa trail in Albuquerque. Horseback riding is another option on this little-known paved trail in New Mexico. How would you like to spend some time exploring the great outdoors on an easy, paved trek with views? To me, it sounds like a wonderful way to get some fresh air and exercise!
Ready to explore the great outdoors around Albuquerque? Whether you prefer biking, hiking, jogging, walking, or horseback riding, the Paseo de la Mesa trail is a worthwhile adventure.
This out-and-back trail is 8.4 miles long and will take nearly three hours to hike it in its entirety. It's considered easy and relatively flat with an overall elevation gain of less than 500 feet.
If you need to rest anywhere along the way, there are benches and picnic tables. Maybe you could make a day of it and take a picnic to enjoy as you stop and rest and take in the scenery.
One of the best things about this trail is that there's light traffic. If you want to experience a bit of peace and quiet, this little-known trail is ideal. And you may even have views like this all to yourself!
