Looking for an escape this weekend? How does a tiny, rustic town surrounded by natural beauty sound to you? If those sound ideal, then you’ll want to pay a visit to Eagle Nest. Located in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of northern New Mexico, this little village has a population that barely reaches 300. Combine that with its fairly isolated location and a laidback atmosphere, and this will be a destination you’ll visit again and again.
Want to head a little further south for your next getaway? If you still want to pay a visit to a small town, check out Socorro. Located about an hour south of Albuquerque, it’s a dusty little town with some amazing history. Read more in The Historic Small Town That Every New Mexican Should Visit At Least Once.
