Some things are certainly worth the drive, aren’t they? Here in the Land of Enchantment, places like White Sands, Taos, Santa Fe, and Carlsbad Caverns are all worth a long journey to get to and explore. However, there are also numerous hidden gems and underrated destinations across the state that are worth visiting no matter how far you have to travel. And this includes Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park, an underrated state park in New Mexico.

Mesilla Valley Bosque State Park encompasses an area of 305 acres along the Rio Grande. Located just outside Las Cruces and close to the town of Mesilla, this state park is worth visiting from any corner of the state.

While small in size, this park actually has quite a bit to see. When you arrive, you should first check out the visitor center which houses several exhibits that are worth seeing. And then, hit the trails and explore the park!

There are 2.3 miles of hiking trails that include both interpretive and accessible trails so that all can enjoy the great outdoors here.
