New Mexico is filled with gorgeous landscapes that will immediately take your breath away. While you can enjoy some of these views from the comfort of your own vehicle, to experience others, you may need to prepare yourself for a little adventure. There are several hiking trails around the Land of Enchantment that will lead you to some of the most magnificent overlooks and remarkable views. One of these trails is the Bosque Peak Trail in the Manzano Mountains.
Bosque Peak is 9,610 feet above sea level. It is one of the center peaks in the Manzano Mountain range and it is located in the central part of New Mexico, near Torreon.
This trail is best for hikers with some experience.
In the 1940s, and near the end of World War II, a plane crashed into the Manzano Mountains. You will see several parts of the airplane as you climb Bosque Peak.
