The public libraries of the past were dusty places where you had to sit still and be very quiet. That’s not the case with modern libraries – you’ll find them bustling with activity. Whether you’re looking for a new novel to read or bringing the kids for storytime, a visit to New Mexico’s largest library is a day of pure fun.
A day spent at the main branch of the Albuquerque library is a good day, indeed. This huge library has all kinds of ways to keep you entertained.
The Friends of the Albuquerque Library has a bookshop on the lower level of the library. Shop for gently used books that have been donated by patrons and take a few home with you.
It opens at 10 a.m. on Monday through Saturday, and closes at 6 p.m., with extended hours to 7 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday.
