New Jersey's Newest And Best Retro Arcade Has Just Opened With Some Familiar Faces
Metuchen might be the coolest small town in New Jersey, and it seems like this Middlesex County main street just keeps getting better and better. Hot on the heels of the opening of Meximodo, a record-setting tequila bar and restaurant, it’s time for the next big debut – Yestercades Metuchen! The latest outpost of this wildly popular retro arcade in New Jersey (also found in Red Bank, Somerville, and Westfield) is catnip for 90s kids like me. It’s jam-packed with old-school arcade games, including some of the most popular beat-em-up multiplayer games of all time. There’s one game here in particular that ate too many of my quarters to count as a teenager – but no more, because Yestercades operates on a timed all-you-can play model. You just buy your wristband or day pass, and let the games begin for as long as you want!
Have you visited Yestercades Metuchen or any of the older sister locations? What’s your favorite game at this retro arcade in New Jersey? Let us know in the comments section! You can find out more about the arcade’s features on the Yestercades website, and make sure to follow the Yestercades Metuchen Facebook page for the latest announcements. When you’re done playing, you’re just a few minutes’ walk on Main Street from Hailey’s Harp and Pub, maybe New Jersey’s best authentic Irish pub. If you’re in town for a few days and want a comfortable and affordable place to sleep, we love Homewood Suites by Hilton Edison Woodbridge – it feels like a home away from home!
