When I was a kid, model railroads were kind of a big deal. I’m not sure if that’s still the case but I am sure that New Jersey has one of the biggest and best indoor model railroad museums in the world. Northlandz is a miniature wonderland with trains, dolls, an art gallery, and more. Even if you’ve been before, it’s worth visiting again – they had a grand re-opening in September of 2019. Check it out!
Northlandz is in the Guinness Book
of World Records for being the
World’s Largest Model railroad. You can find it right here in Flemington, New Jersey.
To top it all off, there's a full size train pulled by steam engine outside. Rides are available, last around 10 minutes, and even include a trip through a tunnel. It's a great way to start or end your visit!
Whether you’re 3, 13, 33, or 93 (or any age in between), Northlandz is sure to delight! It’s the kind of New Jersey day trip you should take at least once, just to say you did. You might be surprised at how much fun you have. I know my family created lasting memories here – has yours? Do you plan on visiting now? I’m interested to see what has changed since the 2019 re-opening!
