A lifelong Virginia resident, Beth loves exploring different parts of the world and currently resides in Charlottesville. For proof of this, head to Beach Haven on September 29th and 30th for the famous LBI Chowderfest Weekend. This year will mark the 30th annual celebration of food, festivities, and a thrilling chowder cook off hosted by the Southern Ocean Chamber of Commerce.

Attention, all chowder fans! The Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual Chowderfest Weekend set to take place in beautiful Beach Haven on September 29th and 30th.
The weekend begins on September 29th with the free Merchant Marketplace, a showcase of shopping, gourmet food vendors, and plenty of wine and beer on tap to enjoy responsibly.
Ticketholders are invited to try a sample from each booth and cast their vote for the best chowder in each category. The winners will be announced at approximately 4:00 p.m.
Those competing for the best red or Manhattan chowder are Lefty’s Tavern, Buckalew’s, Stefano’s, Ocean County College Hospitality Program, Bistro 14, and Black Whale Bar & Fish House.
Last but not least, the creative chowder vendors are Delaware Ave Oyster House, La Bamba, Sunny Rae’s, The Woo Hoo, Blue Water Café, Cuisine on the Green and the first international competitor, Nancy’s Barn of Ballyliffen, Ireland.
After sampling lots of delicious chowders, ticket holders will be invited to cast their votes for their favorite red, white, and creative chowder. One thing's for sure...you'll want to bring your appetite!

Tickets to the event begin at $30 for General Admission, $10 for Children’s Tickets (ages 4- 12) and $65 for the VIP tickets, which include early admission and a t-shirt.
